The Eagles released Mychal Kendricks on Tuesday following the first practice of OTAs, and Giants general manager Dave Gettleman would be wise to make a play to sign the 27-year-old inside linebacker.
After largely neglecting the linebacker position in recent years, Gettleman acted aggressively by trading for former Rams inside linebacker Alec Ogletree but Kendricks would certainly be an upgrade over incumbent starter B.J. Goodson.
Far from the best cover-linebacker in the NFL, Kendricks had the three best seasons of his career while playing inside in a 3-4 under defensive coordinator Bill Davis from 2013 to 2015.
