A sold-out energized crowd greeted the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders as they took the field before kickoff of the Eagles’ home opener against the division rival New York Giants.
Rookie kicker Jake Elliott set an Eagles franchise record by hitting a game-winning 61-yard field goal as time ran out for a thrilling 27-24 victory Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Eagles rushed for 193 yards on 39 attempts.
With the win the Eagles improved to 2-1, with both wins coming in the division, while the Giants dropped to 0-3.
The Eagles next home game will be Sunday Oct.
