On October 2, the New York Giants hosted a slew of veteran safeties for workouts prior to their Monday Night Football contest against the Minnesota Vikings. Among the players was former Cleveland Brown and Pro Bowler Donte Whitner.
New York ultimately chose not to sign any of the players before playing Minnesota, but the team hasn’t ruled out inking one to a deal down the line due to their rash of injuries at the position. Defensive backs Eli Apple, Nat Berhe, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Darian Thompson all watched from the sidelines as their team matched up versus the Vikings.
