EAST RUTHERFORD -- A domestic assault charge against former Giants offensive lineman Michael Bowie was dropped on Tuesday in Oklahoma, according to Tulsa County Court records.
The state moved to dismiss the single count of domestic assault and battery, as well as two counts of property destruction under $1,000 after the prosecuting witness did not appear at a discovery hearing Tuesday, according to court records.
The Giants waived Bowie six days after he was initially charged in August. General manager Jerry Reese said in a statement at the time the team would consider bringing Bowie back, depending on how the situation played out, but a return seems unlikely for now.
