The Giants were in full pads for the first time in training camp on Wednesday, which always ramps up the intensity, especially for those on defense. Few players were more animated than linebacker Devon Kennard.
In his second season out of Southern California, Kennard lined up outside the tight end during one sequence of 11-on-11. At the snap, he charged through the offensive tackle into the backfield and tagged running back Rashad Jennings before the play picked up momentum.
Fact is, Kennard hopes to be spending a lot of time in opposing backfields this season, courtesy of the new scheme being implemented by defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
