The Washington Commanders made a big move on Saturday, acquiring wide receiver/offensive weapon Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
Samuel has only one 1,000-yard receiving season in his six-year career, but the 6-foot, 215-pound 29-year-old also carries value as a running back.
Samuel, due $21.7 million from the 49ers in 2025, had requested a trade. San Francisco, obviously, was willing to oblige.
The fifth-round pick that went to San Francisco is reportedly No. 148.
The 49ers will absorb a $31.55 million cap hit.
