The New York Giants are able to breathe a small sigh of relief Monday. After extensive testing, including an MRI, rookie cornerback DeAndre Baker has been diagnosed with a sprained left knee.
Baker had his practice cut short on Sunday after injuring his left knee during warm-ups and going inside for testing. While the Giants hoped it was just a sprain, the fear was that one of their starting corners had torn an ACL. Fortunately, the tests put that fear to rest and confirmed that the ACL is intact. At this point we don’t know the severity of the sprain, which ligaments were injured, or exactly how long Baker’s recovery will be.
