Defensive ends coach Robert Nunn has met with Jason Pierre-Paul over the offseason, he said on Tuesday.
JPP will not be in attendance at the team’s minicamp, which kicks off on Tuesday. Pierre-Paul, who had a team-leading 12 1/2 sacks last season, is reported to be seeking a long-term deal. No serious negotiations have taken place and a long-term deal seems unlikely before the deadline of July 15, after which Pierre-Paul’s only option will be to sign a $14.8 million one-year deal.
Nunn said that he met with JPP six or seven times this offseason, and that the defensive end has some of the playbook he can study at home.
