Davis Webb is starting over.
But where?
One day after he was released by the Giants, Webb went unclaimed on waivers by the 31 other teams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It looks the best Webb can hope for to start the season is a No. 3 depth chart spot — maybe a practice squad spot — where he will have to work his way from the bottom. He is an unrestricted free agent.
Webb's stunning sudden fall from the Giants remains essentially was explained by coach Pat Shurmur as he lost a competition to be the franchise's young quarterback to rookie Kyle Lauletta and the Giants wanted a veteran backup to Eli Manning.
