Way back in 1992, Long Island native Linda Cohn joined ESPN to work on “SportsCenter” as an anchor. Twenty-four years later, she achieved a milestone no other ESPN personality has ever hit before – host 5,000 episodes of the network’s flagship program.
Being a native New Yorker, Cohn is a giant fan of her hometown teams, including the Knicks, Mets, Rangers, and of course, Big Blue. So it was only fitting that on Sunday, as Cohn hosted her landmark episode, one of her all-time favorite Giants called in to congratulate her. It was none other than former wide receiver and Super Bowl XLII hero David Tyree.
