Interesting enough, several New York Giants beat writers have thrown the B.S. flag on many of Gettleman’s comments visa vi his press conference last week. That fact, in and of itself, seems to be a stark departure from the Jerry Reese years.
During Reese’s tenure as general manager, especially the latter portion of his decade in the GM chair, press conferences became a necessary evil. Reese would say little if anything substantive, and writers would write articles that basically regurgitated his words.
Nothing to see here, even though the team continued to deteriorate.
When Gettleman came on board, it appeared at first blush that things would change for the better.
