Former Georgia Bulldog and now New York Giants’ rookie linebacker Azeez Ojulari should have been taken at least in the mid-first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. But reports of issues with his knee caused him to slide into the second round.
Giants’ general manager Dave Gettleman made it clear after they drafted Ojulari that they were happy to see him fall into their laps.
“Here’s what I’m going to say to you. You have to have confidence in your ability to evaluate players. So you just turn around and people are missing it for whatever reason and it didn’t scare us, that’s for darn sure,” Gettleman said.
