You have to wonder if Dave Gettleman asked his doctors to circle Sunday as a target date on the recovery calendar.
The Giants general manager is finished with his chemotherapy treatments for lymphoma and has been medically cleared to join the team on the road for the first time.
It just so happens — or maybe it is not a coincidence — the Giants will be in Carolina. Gettleman was the Panthers general manager from 2013-17, presiding over a NFC Championship team before he was fired 15 months ago by since-displaced franchise owner Jerry Richardson.
