The door is wide open.
Speaking Monday a day after the Giants’ loss to the Bills dropped them to 0-2, head coach Pat Shurmur left open the possibility that rookie Daniel Jones could take over for Eli Manning as the team’s starting quarterback for its Week 3 matchup with the Buccaneers.
Shurmur said “I think that’s fair at this point” to have the conversation about the quarterback transition.
Manning completed 26 of 45 passes for 250 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Sunday’s loss. Through two games, Manning has 556 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
