Daniel Fells’ MRSA infection improving, but ‘long road ahead’

There is good news regarding Daniel Fells’ battle with MRSA.

The Giants tight end, hospitalized and dealing with the serious staph infection, has the MRSA “under control,’’ according to a source familiar with Fells’ condition.

“The bad news is there are still more surgeries,’’ the source told The Post.

Fells, 32, has undergone seven procedures on his foot as his medical team attempts to clear the infection out of his foot. He was hospitalized on Oct. 2. MRSA can be deadly if it resists treatment and spreads into the bloodstream. There was a danger of Fells losing the foot, but that danger has, for now, subsided.
