New York Giants tight end Daniel Fells, who spent most of October in the hospital fighting off a MRSA staph infection in his right foot, had an eighth surgery on the foot Wednesday. Fells posted on Instagram about it:
Fells had his first seven surgeries while in the hospital in the weeks that followed his initial diagnosis. Upon his release from the hospital Oct. 20, he was told he'd have to return for at least two more surgeries to guard against the spread of the infection. There's also a good chance he will have plastic surgery to repair some of the damage the infection and the treatment have done to his foot.
