NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Giants’ desperately needed help in their secondary. Stevie Brown suddenly found himself without a job.
The simple math worked out Monday as Big Blue announced it had re-signed the veteran safety, who played for the Giants from 2012-14.
To make room on the roster, the Giants cut linebacker Victor Butler.
Brown had his breakout season with the Giants in 2012, registering 76 tackles and eight interceptions, one off the league lead. However, he suffered a torn ACL in the preseason the following year and wasn’t the same player when he finally returned in 2014, recording just 38 tackles and no interceptions.
