Corey Ballentine’s draft night went just a bit differently than you’d normally expect. Typically, the night would be filled with joy, especially for a Division II product who was likely never positive he would actually be drafted right up until the moment it happened.
For Ballentine though, it was a night filled with horror. Shortly after getting the draft call from the New York Giants, Ballentine and a friend were injured in a drive by shooting off campus. The Washburn University standout was luckily able to survive the incident, but his best friend and roommate was not so fortunate.
