Giants draft pick Corey Ballentine is out of the hospital and headed to the team’s mini-camp this weekend, days after he was wounded in a college shooting.
Ballentine, 23, was shot in the rear and his Washburn University roommate and football teammate Dwane Simmons killed in the early Sunday shooting in Topeka, Kansas, outside an off-campus party. Simmons’ father has said the pair had been approached by some men looking to score pot, and when Ballentine and Simmons told them to get lost, the thugs fired.
The Giants said Ballentine is out of the hospital and set to attend the team’s mini-camp in a few days, according to WIBW-TV of Topeka.
