In a game in which the Giants did not have their starting quarterback, they relied on their running game and their defense to beat host Seattle, 17-12, in the biggest upset of their season.
It was the fourth straight win for the Giants (5-7), their longest streak since 2016, and it at least temporarily gave them sole possession of first place in the NFC East with four games to play. They moved a half-game ahead of Washington (4-7), a team against whom they have a tiebreaker advantage by virtue of their season sweep.
More importantly, it showed that the Giants can go toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the conference and come out on top.
