Chase Cota caught Giants’ eye, now can he make the team?

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen has admitted in the past that joint practices offer the team’s front office an up-close chance to scout players another NFL team may cut.

The Giants held a joint practice before a preseason game last season against the Detroit Lions. In that preseason game, undrafted wide receiver Chase Cota had four catches for 60 yards.

He spent time on the practice squads of the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans in 2023. The Giants signed him to reserve/futures contract in January.
