The latest accolade for Odell Beckham Jr. is one the Giants star might not want.
Beckham on Wednesday was selected as the cover boy for the “Madden 16” video game, becoming at age 22 the youngest player to appear on the front in the nearly 30-year history of the hugely popular EA Sports franchise.
But with the infamous “Madden Curse” lurking, Beckham can only hope that beating Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski in the final fan vote doesn’t come back to haunt Beckham and the Giants this fall.
Among the most notable stars who faltered the year they were put on the cover include Michael Vick (fractured fibula in 2005), Donovan McNabb (torn ACL in 2006), Shaun Alexander (broken foot in 2007) and Adrian Peterson (foot injury in 2013).
