Right now, most folks are not concerned about the safety position. While it doesn’t fall high on the New York Giants priority list, it bears watching. Erstwhile Pro Bowler Landon Collins comes off, not one, but two surgeries on his broken forearm. Meanwhile, Collins is flanked by erratic former Jerry Reese draft pick Darian Thompson.
Thompson remains an enigma. Perhaps, the expectations were simply too high when he came out of Boise State in 2016. He suffered through foot and shoulder problems and essentially lost his rookie season. Remember, the previous regime handed him a starting position immediately when he stepped on the New York Giants practice field.
