Thompson’s presence in the starting line-up was a bit of a surprise as the recently released “unofficial depth chart” had Curtis Riley penciled in as first-team. According to the team’s official website, Riley missed the game due to a hamstring strain. This week, Riley seems destined to be in the starting line-up for the New York Giants as they visit the Detroit Lions.
First, Thompson appears to have his own hamstring issues and hasn’t practiced this week. Secondly, despite his absence last week, Riley may have positioned himself at the top of the depth chart anyway.
