San Francisco -- The NFL is monitoring the air quality in the San Francisco area as smoke from the Camp Fire in nearby Butte Country – the most destructive wildfire in California history -- has created a hazardous and smoggy condition that could affect Monday’s game between the Giants and 49ers in Santa Clara. As of Saturday night the expectations were that conditions would improve and the game will go on as scheduled.
The fires did already alter the 49ers’ practice schedule this week.
“When we changed the practice time we had to cut stuff out (on Friday),” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said on Saturday.
