Sam Beal most recently played for a team with a horse logo, but the Giants injured rookie cornerback relates better to a different wild animal these days.
"I'm a caged lion right now," the Western Michigan University Broncos product told NJ Advance Media in his first interview since suffering a season-ending right shoulder injury. "A wounded lion in a cage, slowly healing."
The Giants held short-lived preseason visions of Beal as the nickel cornerback. But Beal didn't make it through his first NFL practice before re-aggravating an old injury that required a second surgery.
