NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Giants added a third key piece to their defense Wednesday afternoon, reportedly reaching a deal with former Dolphins defensive end Olivier Vernon.
Earlier in the day, the Giants, who entered free agency at a whopping $56.6 million under the salary cap, landed ex-Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins and former Jets defensive tackle Damon Harrison.

Vernon’s deal is worth $85 million over five years and includes $52.5 million in guarantees, the NFL Network reported.
Vernon, 25, was a third-round draft pick by the Dolphins in 2012.
