Mike McCarthy is best known for his work helping to develop Aaron Rodgers into a superstar quarterback. Before Rodgers, though, there was Brett Favre. McCarthy was not in on the ground floor with Favre, but he did play a role that the Hall of Famer recalls as beneficial and enjoyable.
This is something to consider for the Giants, who interviewed McCarthy on Friday and have a young quarterback, Daniel Jones, awaiting whomever succeeds the fired Pat Shurmur. McCarthy was the quarterbacks coach for Favre in Green Bay for only one season, and returned in 2006 as the Packers head coach, with Favre still on the scene.
