The Giants made a roster move over the weekend that many could probably argue they should’ve made a long time ago: they signed a proven veteran safety.
Brandon Meriweather, a former first-round pick and two-time Pro Bowler, signed with the Giants in the wake of Landon Collins and Mykelle Thompson going down on Friday night against the Bengals. Collins will return in a few weeks but Thompson will have to wait another season to start his NFL career.
Sure, there are plenty of questions to ask about this signing considering Meriweather wasn’t signed until this point and really hasn’t come close to playing at his once-Pro Bowl level the past couple of seasons.
