Brad Wing is staying with the Giants.
The third-year punter signed an extension with the Giants, the team announced Monday, the team said. The three-year deal means Wing will be a Giant through the 2019 season. Financial terms were not available, but NFL.com reported that the extension was worth $6.45 million, with $3.725 million in guarantees (including a $2 million signing bonus).
The Giants traded for the Australian punter on Sept. 4 last year as a cheaper alternative to longtime punter Steve Weatherford, who was cut that same day. Wing averaged 44.5 gross yards and 38.9 net yards in 76 punts, had 10 touchbacks and tied Don Maynard’s single-season franchise record for punts inside the 20-yard line (33).
