PHILADELPHIA — When the Giants needed a big kick from Brad Wing, the usually reliable punter booted a stinker.
“Just miss-hit it,” a glum Wing said.
The line-drive punt came with 13 seconds remaining Sunday in a game tied at 24. It was not tied for long, as Wing opened the door and rookie kicker Jake Elliott closed it with a 61-yard field goal as time expired to give the Eagles a 27-24 victory.
Wing’s punt darted out of bounds on the left sideline, traveling only 28 yards.
“It doesn’t take a football genius to realize how big that play was,” Wing said.
