The No. 23 is essentially synonymous with the name Michael Jordan, but not so for a recently signed Giants cornerback with the same name as the basketball Hall of Famer.
Claimed off waivers on Sept. 2, Jordan picked No. 33 as his jersey number because fellow cornerback and locker-mate B.W. Webb won't part with the number made famous by the Chicago Bulls legend.
"I offered him some cash," Jordan told NJ Advance Media. "But, he wasn't going for it. He didn't even consider it. He likes it. It is what it is. I've worn 23 in high school, college, middle school, ever since I started.
