Authorities have identified the victim and driver in a traffic accident that occurred in Sedalia on Monday, November 8.
According to a press statement from the Sedalia Police Department, emergency responders were dispatched to the vicinity of North Engineer Avenue and Saline Street at around 3:10 p.m. in response to a girl who had been struck by a car.
When rescue workers arrived, they discovered that the 11-year-old girl had sustained serious injuries in the incident. Emergency responders tried to save the girl’s life, but she died as a result of her injuries.
According to preliminary inquiry, a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 34-year-old Sedalia resident Leandre Chandler was southbound on North Engineer at Saline Street when the girl attempted to cross Engineer from east to west.
