Maybe former general manager Jerry Reese never evolved from being a scout. Typically, Reese would bog down the New York Giants roster by focusing on developmental players. The list of coulda, woulda, shoulda players that Reese drafted could fill the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
You know the players: Owa Odighizuwa, Damontre Moore and Mykkle Thompson to name a few. Toward the end of his tenure, Reese seemed to get slightly wiser. Guys like Dalvin Tomlinson and Sterling Shepard were plug-in and play draft picks.
Unfortunately for Reese, he could not get over that third-round hump.
