Former New York Giant legend, Super Bowl winning safety Antrel Rolle, hit the nail on the head this week while discussing the current state of his former team. Rolle spoke for a majority of Giant fans when he correctly pontificated that the Big Blue “defense” was the actual reason for the team’s demise, not their legendary quarterback.
This is a sentiment that mostly all Giant fans agree with, even though it still doesn’t mean moving on to Daniel Jones isn’t the right thing to do at this moment. Rolle knows a thing or two about leadership, as the hard-nosed safety was the undisputed defensive leader of the 2011 Super Bowl team (he’s just a more vocal guy than Justin Tuck, sorry if that offends anyone), and went off on a rant where he explained the biggest problem with the ‘D’ is a lack of toughness and leadership – Rolle also only missed a handful of games in his NFL career, despite playing through numerous injuries, and didn’t miss one during his five years as a Giant.
