Andrew Thomas benching explained

There was something very odd about the New York Giants’ win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday and that was the fact that rookie first rounder, offensive tackle Andrew Thomas, didn’t play the entire game. He actually started on the bench with fellow rookie Matt Peart essentially splitting time with him throughout the afternoon.

This was the left tackle rotation: Peart, Peart, Thomas/Thomas, Peart, Thomas. Good luck deciphering that.

With Thomas not having a great first year, it was difficult to know whether Peart playing was to see what he could do to help the offense or whether it was disciplinary.
