EAST RUTHERFORD -- The Giants' search for cornerback depth continues even as the salary cap space dwindles.
Former Pro Bowler Alterraun Verner was part of a small group of cornerbacks who privately worked out for Giants coaches and scouts after Friday's practice, a person familiar with the tryout crew told NJ Advance Media on the condition of anonymity.
Other than sticking with starters Janoris Jenkins and Eli Apple and backup Donte Deayon, the Giants made the decision in the offseason to totally overhaul the position.
Out went Ross Cockrell, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Brandon Dixon.
