The New York Giants released 32 players and put five on injured reserve. They cut down their roster from 89 to 53 on Saturday as they begin their 95th season in the NFL.

In addition to the cuts, wide receiver Golden Tate has begun serving his four-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. He is eligible to return for the Giants’ Week 5 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct.
