EAST RUTHERFORD — Tempers flared as class let out for the summer.
The Giants practiced for about an hour in an abbreviated format Thursday, as mandatory minicamp broke and players scattered for six weeks until training camp. The Patriots actually cut short their minicamp.
But the Giants still were on the field long enough for a scuffle to break out, which is a great reminder that they will hold three joint practices with the Lions in August before a preseason game in Detroit. Spending that much time with an opponent usually is a formula for a fight or two to break out.
