3 things to know about new Giants’ running back Rod Smith

We found out earlier Wednesday that the New York Giants had signed running back Rod Smith, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys, to compete for a spot as a reserve running back. Let’s learn a few things about him.

  • The best game of Smith’s career came against the Giants in 2017. He carried six times for 47 yards and one touchdown, and also had 5 catches for 113 yards and a score in a 30-10 Dallas victory on Dec. 12 of that year. The touchdown reception was an 81-yarder.
  • After going undrafted, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks as a fullback.
