After the Giants missed out on Andrew Norwell in free agency, first-year general manager Dave Gettleman turned his attention to Nate Solder.
The New England Patriots two-time Super Bowl winner was the top offensive tackle on the market. He had plenty of suitors. But Gettleman and the Giants were willing to break the bank for Tom Brady’s longtime left tackle, signing Solder to a four-year, $62 million contract, according to Spotrac.
The move immediately improves New York’s offensive line, fixing their most glaring hole, left tackle. The Giants still have needs at right tackle and along the interior offensive line, but landing Solder gives them more options in the draft.
