Thanks to a lean year for safety help and a rash of injuries, the New York Giants found themselves in dire straits at the safety position in 2015.
Rookie Landon Collins started out roughly but improved tremendously as the year went on. However, he just isn't a free safety and is much better playing downhill than roaming the middle of the field. If the Giants want to improve their defense, they will need to find a player who can lock down the back end of their defense.
In 2008, they had a similar problem and drafted Miami's Kenny Phillips for the second year of Steve Spagnuolo's defense.
