The curtain went up late on the Giants' regular-season dress rehearsal.
Giants coach Pat Shurmur doesn't like the term "dress rehearsal" to describe Week 3 of the preseason — when most NFL teams play their starters longer to get ready for the regular-season opener — but he had to like the way his team started the game even less.
"It goes without saying, we got off to a slow start," Shurmur said. "I talk to our guys frequently about energy and enthusiasm. We didn’t really have that to begin with, and then you saw how one phase of the ball can pick you up.
