Ben McAdoo did not provide further details on what caused Rodgers-Cromartie to leave the team before practice. It's unclear how long he'll be suspended. Two reports say Rodgers-Cromartie was unhappy with his current role on the Giants.
I’m told Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie expressed his displeasure with the coaching staff regarding his existing role, per source. #Giants

DRC expressed desire to play outside, not in slot. Started outside for Eli Apple Sunday, then moved inside as has been case since last year https://t.co/jRHyIzAa0K

#Giants CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie had words with coach Ben McAdoo after being pulled in Sunday’s game, sources say. It continued today

It got heated. DRC has been a good soldier, playing the slot, doing what was asked. As competitive as he is, getting pulled was too much. https://t.co/uXvqsAAfKb

Rodgers-Cromartie has played mostly in the slot this year. Eli Apple has struggled this year as teams have targeted him.
Rodgers-Cromartie signed a five-year, $35 million deal with the team before the 2014 season. He was set to be a free agent after the 2018 season. His name was also mentioned as a potential cap cut this year and would likely pop up again this year.
