Eli Manning carried the New York Giants to a critical win Monday Night. The Giants defeated the Miami Dolphins 31-24 to stay tied atop the NFC East. The Giants are now 6-7, tied with the Eagles and Redskins for the division lead. The Dolphins are now 5-8, with their playoff hopes all but gone.
Manning was nearly perfect against the Dolphins. He completed 27 of 31 passes for 337 yards and four TDs. His favorite target was Odell Beckham, who was limited during the game and left to get IVs several times. Still, Beckham caught seven passes for 166 yards and two scores.
Even the Giants' usually poor running game had success. New York ran the ball 32 times for 92 yards, including kneel downs at the end of the game.
The Dolphins were once again one-dimensional, despite having success on the ground and never trailing by more than three until the fourth quarter. Lamar Miller had plenty of success early, but the Dolphins strangely abandoned the run once again. Miller had only 12 carries, but racked up 89 yards and two scores. As a team, the Dolphins ran the ball 22 times for 128 yards and two scores.
QB Ryan Tannehill completed 25 of 41 passes for 236 yards and a TD. He targeted WR Jarvis Landry a whopping 18 times. Landry caught 11 of those for 99 yards.
The Giants host the undefeated Panthers Sunday. The Dolphins travel to face the Chargers next week.
