Giants running back Peyton Hillis and linebacker Jacquian Williams played with concussions in last week's game against the Seahawks, according to reports surfacing on Saturday.
Hillis was placed on injured reserve this week with a concussion he suffered last Sunday.
Hillis himself believes he sustained the concussion in the first quarter of the game, after the back of his helmet smacked against the turf while being gang-tackled.
He stayed in the game afterwards, covering a kickoff return before self-reporting his symptoms to the training staff. The Giants removed him from the game immediately afterwards, but Hillis did participate in at least one play while he had concussion symptoms.
Williams reportedly played the final three quarters with a concussion, though he did not report symptoms until after the Giants returned home from Seattle. His injury was less obvious, as there was no clear play where Williams may have sustained the injury.
A team trainer is supposed to be watching for the kind of plays that could result in concussions - with Hillis slamming his helmet against the turf being a perfect example of the type of play they would be looking at.
This was Hillis' third self-reported concussion of his career - one that has already ended his season, and could be the end to his career as well.
