It has been a rough week in NY Giants news with Eli Manning and the crew reeling after a tough loss on Monday Night Football to the Indianapolis Colts. The Giants were without running back Rashad Jennings for that contest, leaving Andre Williams and Peyton Hillis to shoulder the load in his absence.
Jennings did, however, return to practice on Thursday for the first time since spraining his MCL a month ago, saying that he felt like he was "getting close" to returning to action.
However, per Josh Alper of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "it looks like that will have to wait at least another week, however. Jennings practiced again on Friday, but the Giants listed him as doubtful and coach Tom Coughlin said there’s still some uncertainty about Jennings’s ability to hold up to a full workload."
Coughlin and the team's training staff are remaining patient in order to keep from risking further injury.
“We just have to make sure he’s ready to compete in a game,” Coughlin said, via ESPN New York.
With Jennings likely out, expect Hillis and Williams to once again trade off carries when the team faces the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
