The 2017 NFL schedule was released last month, and the New York Giants have a tough road ahead of them in their quest to make it back to the playoffs. These are the five hardest games standing between the Giants and another return to the postseason.
5. vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Week 10)
The Chiefs, believe it or not, are 22-4 in their last 26 regular season games. They've had issues during the postseason, but the Chiefs are a tough out in the regular season. Playing at home helps, but this game is wedged between a rough stretch with three of four games on the road.
4. at Washington Redskins (Week 12)
The Redskins are a quality team, but the situation around this game helps it crank the top five. It's a road game for the Giants, which are rarely easy. It's also a Thursday Night game, which have the tendency to be sloppy and ugly.
3. at Oakland Raiders (Week 13)
In a bubble, a road game against a very good Raiders team could rank even higher. Especially since it's a back-to-back road game. But, the Giants catch a break by getting some added time off following their Thursday night game the week before. It's still a tough game, but it could be worse.
2. vs. Seattle Seahawks (Week 7)
Seattle is a much different (read: worse) team on the road than at home. The Giants are glad they don't have to travel to Seattle, but this won't be a cakewalk. If the Seahawks offensive line can be not terrible, they might be the best team in the NFC.
1. at Dallas Cowboys (Week 1)
I'm only including one Cowboys game on the top five, but there's a real argument both matchups should be. The Cowboys lost to the Giants twice last year, but that doesn't mean the games will be easy in 2017. A road matchup in week 1 will be far from easy, especially as the Giants try to work in a few new offensive pieces.
