The 2018 NFL Draft will start in just a few weeks, and there will be plenty of trades. That's just the nature of the draft, although those trades are very difficult to predict. The New York Giants currently have the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, but without a seeming desire to take a quarterback with the selection, it's looking more and more likely that they will trade down in the draft (they won't trade up for the No. 1 pick). With that in mind, here are three trades the Giants could make in the NFL Draft:
1) Trade down with Bills
This is the trade that is the most likely to happen. Buffalo is known to be targeting a quarterback in the draft but were out of position to take one of the top prospects with no picks until the No. 12 selection. In fact, they're reportedly talking with New York about a trade that would net the Giants the No. 12 pick, No. 22 pick and No. 53 pick.
If New York does decide to pass on prospects like Saquon Barkley and Bradley Chubb in favor of trading down, it looks like that deal will be with Buffalo.
2) Trade down with Dolphins
This would be a something of a minor trade for the Giants, dropping from No. 2 overall to No. 11, but it could happen if Buffalo doesn't trade up. Miami has expressed interest in selecting a quarterback and could move up two spots to select one - and they'd probably have their quarterback of choice at No. 2. By moving back, the Giants would still be able to land one of their top defensive targets (likely Roquan Smith or Tremaine Edmunds) while likely picking up an extra pick or two in this year's draft or next.
3) Trade down with Patriots
I know that the Giants and Patriots don't make for the most desirable of trade partners (which is why they're third on the list) but there is apparently some very real interest from New England in trading up to draft Baker Mayfield. They have been stockpiling draft picks (two first-rounders and two second-rounders) to put themselves in position to trade up should they make that decision. This deal would send New York from No. 2 all the way back to No. 23 but could net them four picks in return.
