According to Fox Business, the YES Network — the regional sports network responsible for broadcasting the New York Yankees, Brooklyn Nets, and New York City FC — has been bought back from Disney by the Yankees for $3.4 billion.
The sale comes on the heels of Disney purchasing 21st Century Fox, therefore requiring them to sell all 22 of latter’s regional sports networks as to avoid a breach of federal antitrust laws. The report goes on to say that minority shareholders will include Sinclair Broadcast Group, Blackstone Group, and the ever-growing Amazon with the aforementioned Yankees owning a majority of the network’s shares.
